Howdy, I'm Chelsea.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I'm a Rad Dude.
I'm a Sad Dude.
I'm an evocative writer and digital artist who explores themes of trauma, obsessive thinking, a yearning for connection, and an uphill battle with suicidal ideation and attempts; often, I dissect these through a female perspective (I am female, after all). Derived entirely from my own personal experiences, my work treads along the delicate line between vulnerable honesty and comedic deflection.

ARTIST BIO
Chelsea Corbin is a writer, digital artist, photographer, filmmaker, and percussionist—a true "jack(ass) of all trades." She's a big fan of nostalgia and early bedtimes. In 2015, she took a hiatus from higher education due to severe issues with her mental health. By 2019, she was able to return as a full-time student at the University of Texas at Dallas. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communications in the Design & Production pathway in 2022.
During her academic career, she solidified the desire to combine her two greatest passions: writing and drawing. Some of her accolades and honors include an invitation to participate in the SP/N Spring Juried Student Exhibition for Photography, winning the ATEC Greater Texas Foundation "Tech Titans" Scholarship and the Stayton Writing Scholarship for a non-fictional memoir.
Currently, she is a filmmaking apprentice with the Pegasus Media Project in Dallas, Texas. Her original narrative short film pitch, "Chuckles, the Frownin' Clown", was selected to be produced by PMP as a group project. Her FIRST original short film script to be produced, "Chuckles, the Frownin' Clown" is scheduled for release in May of 2023.
"Despite all of my achievements in higher education and progress in stabilizing my mental health, I remain humble, level-headed, and completely attached to reality." - Chelsea
